Cuppa Coffee Thoughts

“She is clothed with strength & dignity and laughs without fear of the future.”

This is something that I have been longing to start since the birth of my blog baby last fall/winter. It’s time spent getting to know amazing women on a personal level and in a completely informal way. Why is this so important to me? Well, you see these women are doing big things and are so talented, but the best part is that they are doing it in their own way and on their own terms.     Strenth & Dignity Quote

The women who are a part of this series are women who will inspire you through what they are doing with their lives and more importantly how they are doing it while still staying true to the core of who they are and the values they have for themselves that guide their life path. They are extremely hard working and I like to call them my #heartworkers. They put their ALL in to what they do and they have the biggest hearts around.

The women you’ll meet and get know through this are special people who I personally admire and who I know you’ll connect with too. And if you want to see my own A’s to the Q’s, you can get to know more about me here. Now, grab your coffee mug, find a comfy seat on the couch, and let’s start chatting.

This week we are meeting our very first #heartworker – Marielle Petkoff. She was gracious enough to give a few A’s to my Q’s below. If you want to get to know her even better then hop right on over to www.theresplendent.com where she shares her heart with you on all sorts of topics.

Interview series - Marielle Petkoff

I am: mother to a curly-haired dictator and a professional bubble-blower

I live: for a giant spoonful of peanut butter.

I believe: coffee is a drug, and I am hopelessly addicted.

1. What is one of your dreams?

That I am being chased by an evil Kermit the frog. And also to be able to turn my “blogging career” into a writing career. I’d love to write a book. About what? Good question. Ideally, I’d like it to be something that encourages other women in their day to day life through the hope and encouragement found in Jesus.

In the meantime, you can check out my blog at www.theResplendent.com. Or don’t. I’m not the boss of you.

2. Who has been the biggest influence on your life? What lessons did that person teach you?

Both of my parents. They have always taught me to work hard and do what’s right, but given me the space to make my own decisions and learn the value of these things myself.

3. Who has been the kindest to you in your life?

My mom. And my mother-in-law. Boy do I have a lot to live up to.

4. What is your favorite quote?

I have come that you may have life and have it to the full. –John 10:10

5. What are your top 3 values? Why?

Faith, family, friends. Faith comes first, because I believe that I am here, living this blessed, joy-filled life, solely by the grace of God, and that my sole purpose on this Earth is to share that news of God’s grace with others. Next comes family and friends, because those are the lives that walk with me, encourage me, and that have molded me into the person I am today. Jobs and money and things won’t last. But people? I want to invest in their lives, and hopefully be able to spend forever with them in Heaven.

6. If you could connect & share a cup of coffee with anyone alive or dead who would you choose? What would you ask them?

Jesus. I’d ask him if I’m on track, if I am doing what He created me to do. In other words, am I getting any of this right?

7. What is your word of the year?

Thrive. Life isn’t always easy. Change happens. Change is not my favorite. So, this year, as I embrace my growing family and face endless new, unexpected, and challenging experiences, I want to thrive instead of just survive. I want to seek joy and positivity through every challenge, and come out of 2016 stronger than ever before!

 8. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

To be an encourager, not a discourager. The world already has plenty of the latter.

9. What are you currently obsessing over?

Almond milk in my lattes, my baby’s squishy knees, and my new Inspiralizer (if you haven’t heard of this, Google it. Go. NOW.)

10. What was the last exciting thing in your life that you celebrated?

The birth of my sweet baby boy!

There you have it! Thanks for stopping by for a cuppa coffee and real talk. I can’t wait to get to know you better. Join the list below to know when the next #heartworker and coffee date happens. I would love for you to be there!

Hugs & Mochas,

Amanda
